Advocating for Justice

Located in Charleston, S.C. Licensed to practice law in South Carolina and North Carolina with nearly two decades of experience counseling and fighting to help my clients.

Experienced trial attorney and appellate advocate, having argued a wide variety of cases in state and federal court, as well as various appellate courts. Areas of practice include DUI, Traffic, Criminal Law, Personal Injury, Civil Rights Cases, all types of Civil Law cases, including complex tort, contract, and business matters, as well as Contract Negotiations and Disputes.

I believe that my job as an Attorney is to be a trusted guide, advocate, and protector for my clients. I seek to help them accomplish their goals with as little cost and stress as possible, always first exploring possibilities for an amicable resolution with their opponent.

But if their opponent insists on confrontational, unreasonable, and aggressive tactics, they will learn that I do not allow my clients to be bullied. I prefer settling things with a handshake but will not shrink from a firefight if that’s what my client’s opponent insists upon. No matter what, I’ll do whatever is legal and necessary to help accomplish the client’s goals.

Legal problems are often some of the most stressful problems people can face. They are often deeply personal, stressful, and frightening, because the outcome of a legal case may materially affect a person’s future. In facing such problems, you need an experienced advocate to help you overcome these difficulties and get you back into a place where you can move on with your life in peace.

Call me and let me review your legal needs and help you create a lawful strategy that will work to achieve your best outcome.

When you are facing a legal problem, it’s important to have an attorney with the ability to investigate the facts of your case, conduct comprehensive research on all legal issues that might apply, and be able to analyze the facts and the law together in a compelling, persuasive, and easy-to-understand narrative.

I believe that the art of legal persuasion is the art of storytelling. You might have the facts on your side. You might have the law on your side. But what you need most on your side is an advocate capable of telling your story in a way that is clear and convincing, and that stirs in the judge or jury natural human feelings of sympathy and understanding for who you are as a person and what the resolution of your case will mean to your life, your family, and your future.

Discourage litigation. Persuade your neighbors to compromise whenever you can. As a peacemaker the lawyer has superior opportunity of being a good man. There will still be business enough.”—Abraham Lincoln
